[00:13] SPEAKER_01: Part of the Canada's Podcast Network, we've sourced for great insights from entrepreneurs [00:18] SPEAKER_01: from across Canada. [00:20] SPEAKER_01: We talked entrepreneurs who are making it happen here so you can listen, discover, and engage. [00:26] SPEAKER_02: Today I'm super excited to introduce you to Cam Arbitage, who is based out of VanCouver. [00:31] SPEAKER_02: We'll hear his story in a moment. [00:33] SPEAKER_02: Cam is actually a full-time professional firefighter, which is super exciting. [00:39] SPEAKER_02: And he has a side hustle CEO, side hustle is CEO of Cam Arbitage, where he is a creator, [00:47] SPEAKER_02: an author, a speaker, an entertainer, and a motivator. [00:52] SPEAKER_02: And he's got a fantastic message that obviously comes from the part and personal experience, Cam. [00:59] SPEAKER_02: So just tell us a little bit about your entrepreneurial journey. [01:04] SPEAKER_00: Well, first off, Angela, thank you very much for having me on the podcast. [01:07] SPEAKER_00: I'm super excited to be a part of what you guys are doing and it's awesome. [01:11] SPEAKER_00: So thank you very much for having me. [01:13] SPEAKER_00: I will start with the entrepreneurial thing sort of came out of after living a life that was [01:21] SPEAKER_00: something to be sort of examined after I became a little bit older and did realize some success [01:27] SPEAKER_00: in my own life. And I was encouraged to look at that story and whether or not it could be used [01:32] SPEAKER_00: to help other people. So last year I decided to write that down into what was the beginnings of a book. [01:38] SPEAKER_00: And I eventually ended up putting it together in a book and publishing that once I realized [01:43] SPEAKER_00: the story had a lot of value for other people. So that sprung was a springboard for some speaking [01:49] SPEAKER_00: engagements. I had some people bring me in to talk about my story in particular. [01:54] SPEAKER_00: And once I saw the response from people in the audience and they came up to me and young people [01:58] SPEAKER_00: and old people, but they were really coming up to me and saying, hey, this part of your story [02:02] SPEAKER_00: really resonated with me. Thank you for sharing that. And once I did see that there was a big impact [02:07] SPEAKER_00: on people that were listening to the story and learning some things about it, I knew I had [02:12] SPEAKER_00: something that I could really go with in terms of making a difference. So that's sort of where we're [02:15] SPEAKER_02: now. And so how do you find time in your schedule to do professional work and all of this side hustle? [02:26] SPEAKER_00: Well, fortunately for me is I have crafted a life in which that I have been able to find the time [02:33] SPEAKER_00: because of my rotational shift work. So I have an advantage in that sense and that I do [02:38] SPEAKER_00: for on and for off. So I have a little more time technically than probably the average person. [02:44] SPEAKER_00: However, it wasn't always that way. And I did work at nine to five for a long time. Monday to [02:50] SPEAKER_00: Friday, the regular work schedule that most people hold. And I was able to do a lot of things [02:56] SPEAKER_00: during that time too. And I think that's very important for people to understand. [03:01] SPEAKER_00: There's a big difference between your job and your work. And those are two different things that [03:06] SPEAKER_00: need to be talked about. So your job is what typically you do to pay your bills, keep the lights on [03:11] SPEAKER_00: and put some food on the table. So I think sometimes people think that after they work their eight-hour [03:17] SPEAKER_00: day and they've gone to their job that that's kind of it. And we look at relaxation and going home [03:22] SPEAKER_00: and living our life. And that's perfectly okay for a lot of people. However, when the growth period [03:28] SPEAKER_00: comes in is Tony Robbins talked about it a lot about when he came home from work and he put in his [03:34] SPEAKER_00: second shift after about six, 30 or seven PM at night, he'd worked till two o'clock in the morning. [03:39] SPEAKER_00: Again, when you look at a lot of stories of people who have found some success in their life [03:43] SPEAKER_00: and found a place where they're really happy with what they've created, [03:47] SPEAKER_00: nine times out of 10, these people have done so while working full-time jobs are paying the bills [03:53] SPEAKER_00: at the same time. I think that's really important to understand. So I say this to people, [03:58] SPEAKER_00: if you're not excited going to your job, that's okay. Find a place where you are excited, [04:05] SPEAKER_00: whether that's leaving your job and going home, be very excited about that space. Create a place [04:10] SPEAKER_00: where you can be excited to go to even if it's not that eight-hour day job. Have that excitement [04:16] SPEAKER_00: and that project at home that you go, wow, I can't wait to get home, have a quick shower and dinner [04:21] SPEAKER_00: and get off to work for about four or five hours. And that's where your real true-lice work happens. [04:27] SPEAKER_02: I would just like you to articulate that in a little bit more detail, the difference between a job [04:32] SPEAKER_02: and what is work for you. What does it mean when you know you're doing your life's purpose or [04:39] SPEAKER_02: the work you're meant to be doing? Whether that means... Sure, sure. So I'm fortunate enough that I really [04:44] SPEAKER_00: do enjoy my job and I love my career and it's very fulfilling. So I get a kind of double-edged thing [04:49] SPEAKER_00: now that I've worked very hard to get there. I do get enjoyment out of going to my career. However, [04:53] SPEAKER_00: my work is when I leave and go home, that's now my place to be myself with no rules, no one telling me [05:02] SPEAKER_00: what to do, no limitations. And that's one thing I like about the actual work that I want people to [05:07] SPEAKER_00: understand is you have a lot of freedom to pick and choose what you're going to do with your work. [05:12] SPEAKER_00: And your work is your time, your effort, your energy, your heart, your emotions. What makes you [05:20] SPEAKER_00: really tick and get excited and I tell people to say, well I don't know what that is yet and I say, [05:24] SPEAKER_00: that's okay, you don't have to think about what you really get excited doing and it might be something [05:30] SPEAKER_00: very obscure but it just, it really turns your crank, you know, like you're like, oh wow, it's one of [05:36] SPEAKER_00: those things where you could lose two hours very quickly and go what happened to the time, it's out [05:41] SPEAKER_00: to window. Pay attention to those things that you're doing and it might not always be what you think it [05:46] SPEAKER_00: is but your work is where you get to play. Work should feel like play, it's not like [05:52] SPEAKER_00: yeah, just pounding a nail into the wall, constantly going on my wrist hurts, this is a lot of work. [05:59] SPEAKER_00: And so that's more like a job, your work is that place where you get to just play and just have fun. [06:06] SPEAKER_00: It should be enjoyable now is there parts of it that are work and hard and I don't know what I'm [06:12] SPEAKER_00: doing and I have to learn new things of course it is but when it's in the framework of your life's [06:17] SPEAKER_00: work it takes on a different connotation, it's not something that's treasury all the time, right? [06:23] SPEAKER_02: So permission to just dig a little because we kind of skirted what your story is, you're happy [06:29] SPEAKER_02: to go down that path, okay. Of course. So and it's maybe easy to say because you're, you've [06:35] SPEAKER_02: bounced out of it and and here you are today but go back in history a little bit and tell us a bit [06:41] SPEAKER_00: of the camp story. So you know in a nutshell really from an early age I was in a circle of people [06:49] SPEAKER_00: and there were some circumstances in life that I got exposed to sort of drugs and alcohol at a very early age, [06:55] SPEAKER_00: about 12 years old and that obviously as a young person you want to experiment, you want to be a part [07:02] SPEAKER_00: of the group, you want to be you know if you're being told something's okay then you assume it's okay [07:06] SPEAKER_00: and so that really led me into a world of experiencing substances in alcohol very early. [07:13] SPEAKER_00: You know by the age of 14, 15 we started dabbling in the hard drug stuff and again it was a culture [07:19] SPEAKER_00: that was accepted at the time and with the groups of people I was with including adults so I really [07:25] SPEAKER_00: didn't know much better. That got me into a world of trouble at school you could imagine trying to [07:30] SPEAKER_00: pay attention in class while you're doing drugs and under the influence of drugs and things like [07:36] SPEAKER_00: that so expelled from school at 16 petition the school board once I realized I needed to go back to [07:42] SPEAKER_00: school around you know getting close to 17 they let me in I struggled further in an alternate program [07:49] SPEAKER_00: watching my friends graduate ahead of me was very depressing so I dropped out for good at the age [07:54] SPEAKER_00: of 18 so at that point you know I was getting into a lot of trouble I had a lot of influences in my [08:00] SPEAKER_00: circle that weren't positive for me. Criminal circles a lot of drug related sort of professions [08:07] SPEAKER_00: things like that and it really led to a place of unhappiness and depression and a lack of [08:13] SPEAKER_00: purpose and a future is really what I like to touch on with people is is they're you know having [08:19] SPEAKER_00: hope about a better day tomorrow is a big deal for a lot of people and I think once you get to a [08:24] SPEAKER_00: desperate place where you don't feel that value or you don't feel like there's a point in tomorrow [08:29] SPEAKER_00: that's where you can get into some pretty dangerous stuff so luckily for me I was able to turn [08:34] SPEAKER_00: things around I got introduced to a golf coach and she sort of took me under her wing and I [08:41] SPEAKER_00: I had another mentor at my job who really helped me through that time and I had came to realization [08:47] SPEAKER_00: that I was short-changing myself I was short-changing my parents my family my friends really you know [08:53] SPEAKER_00: when you start letting yourself down you let up other people so it comes back to don't let [08:59] SPEAKER_00: yourself down start with yourself first I think we we like to please other people in our lives [09:04] SPEAKER_00: but when we're letting ourselves down that's a hard one to stomach because we're the ones that have [09:09] SPEAKER_00: to live with that so I'm very fortunate you know my story is is quite lengthy with a lot of [09:17] SPEAKER_00: interesting turns and twists in it but essentially I got accepted to University in the United States [09:21] SPEAKER_00: of America on scholarship I was able to finish high school at night school while working my job of [09:27] SPEAKER_00: course like we talked about so there was a lot of hard work a lot of discipline a lot of cutting [09:34] SPEAKER_00: the the people out of my life that I knew were we're not helping me with a healthy future and a [09:41] SPEAKER_00: situation that was good for myself so I think understanding also what I call the inner circle of [09:48] SPEAKER_00: your life is people that you can probably count on one hand and that's very important I think [09:54] SPEAKER_00: for people to know that they don't need to have 50 60 70 80 90 friends and these big groups of [10:00] SPEAKER_00: friends and circles that are acquaintances that's okay go and no party and hang in out that's okay [10:05] SPEAKER_00: but the inner circle in your life is is counted on one hand and it's a very few people in your [10:10] SPEAKER_00: life that truly care about you truly want you to do well truly have your well being at heart those [10:16] SPEAKER_00: are the people you need to build your team around you need to find those core group of people that [10:21] SPEAKER_00: are going to make sure you're doing what you need to do and keep you accountable so I was able to [10:25] SPEAKER_00: develop a really strong inner circle I rely on them to be honest with me whether I want that [10:31] SPEAKER_00: honesty or not they they provide it and sometimes it hurts but it's good so it's been a wonderful [10:38] SPEAKER_00: journey and I'm just here to encourage and guide people and help them through those processes themselves [10:43] SPEAKER_02: well and as as we met each other and I heard a little bit about your story it's super relevant [10:50] SPEAKER_02: for me because I have a a son that two days ago turned 13 so I think he's really on that you know [10:57] SPEAKER_02: that important life lesson of of which path do I go and who are my scares of influence that are [11:03] SPEAKER_02: great influences you know with having a golf pro take you under your wing really there was just one [11:09] SPEAKER_02: key metric that was kind of a pivot for you right so there's some I think that what we talked about [11:15] SPEAKER_02: and the reason why I love your story and I love your persona is that you can relate to that [11:20] SPEAKER_02: you know that youth age group that 13 to 18 year old age group that knows that it just takes one [11:27] SPEAKER_02: you know bit of inspiration from a cam and maybe one mentor for for people to really get [11:33] SPEAKER_00: their lives in a direction that feels good that's so correct and thank you for sharing that [11:38] SPEAKER_00: with me that's really good and one thing I've learned Angela is the adult world is a lot similar to [11:46] SPEAKER_00: the youth world in that what I'm finding now and of course I'm really focusing on that 13 to 18 [11:53] SPEAKER_00: year old age group and those are the people I want to be around and but I'm learning that in the adult [11:58] SPEAKER_00: world oftentimes they behave a little bit the same way and that they are influenced by what other [12:03] SPEAKER_00: people are doing so yes you know the thing I really want to help these young people learn and [12:09] SPEAKER_00: understand is it's okay to be yourself it's okay to be different it's okay to stand out it's okay [12:16] SPEAKER_00: to not do what everyone else is doing because what happens is I find that people who don't develop [12:22] SPEAKER_00: those skills will end up often being adults in the same situation at 50 or 60 absolutely absolutely [12:29] SPEAKER_02: and they find themselves they're not passionate they're maybe not driven to you know to keep [12:34] SPEAKER_02: even if they've started their own business or they're on you know started on the path of entrepreneurship [12:38] SPEAKER_02: what got you here is not necessarily what's going to get you there right I'm excited how did you decide [12:44] SPEAKER_02: that publishing was your was your stick I mean what's uh you know I confess I haven't read the book yet [12:52] SPEAKER_00: but um what why publishing okay so I have understood a few things in my short time in my journey [13:00] SPEAKER_00: in entrepreneurship and I will say that self publishing you know did did cost me a fair amount of [13:06] SPEAKER_00: money it's not overly cheap however two things traditional publishing is very difficult to get into [13:13] SPEAKER_00: okay so I learned that very quick after researching that and I thought wow I could be giving [13:17] SPEAKER_00: manuscripts and things to publishers for years I mean there's people who tried for years and they [13:22] SPEAKER_00: never get accepted I uh one of my my keys to success in my life that I followed to this day is I [13:28] SPEAKER_00: take very quick action once I decide make a decision once I make a decision it's go time and I do [13:35] SPEAKER_00: not have a lot I do not have years to sit around and wonder and twitle my thumbs I don't operate that [13:40] SPEAKER_00: way and in my profession as a firefighter we don't have the luxury of time on our side so I've been [13:46] SPEAKER_00: trained to operate very quickly so when I look at the the math and the and the situation I said well [13:53] SPEAKER_00: for me to make a financial investment self publish this book within a calendar year I had written [13:59] SPEAKER_00: the book in six months published it in six months one year totally zipped up the book is on the shelves [14:04] SPEAKER_00: the book is in amazon it's now for sale so my key is for me I thought well if I want to make a [14:12] SPEAKER_00: serious goal of presenting and being a speaker and being someone who's taken seriously and has [14:18] SPEAKER_00: some credibility I better get a book out there that they can show and prove I'm doing what I'm [14:23] SPEAKER_00: talking about and here's my story so really for me the book is a door opener a calling card a resume [14:30] SPEAKER_00: a business card so a lot of a lot of business opportunities I've had have opened up because I've [14:36] SPEAKER_00: actually handed people's physical copies of my book when I walk into a meeting we talk about it [14:41] SPEAKER_00: they find it intriguing I pull the book out of my bag and I say well here let me sign a coffee for you [14:46] SPEAKER_00: and have it and that's really opened up a lot of doors people take you seriously you've completed [14:51] SPEAKER_00: something you've shown them at your serious so there's more to it than just saying you're an author [14:57] SPEAKER_00: or you have a self published book or whatever it's the idea and business that people want to know [15:03] SPEAKER_00: what you have can you be taken seriously and can you finish something and follow through I think [15:09] SPEAKER_02: there's a lot of things there and how did you um where did the financing come from for this first [15:14] SPEAKER_00: project so I find that's a great story because I financed it myself okay and I fight fires and I've [15:23] SPEAKER_00: been I've been investing in my business myself with my job and that's brought it its own set of [15:28] SPEAKER_00: challenges and there were times along the way which I love to tell people and some people you know [15:33] SPEAKER_00: maybe in business or in their dreams would not like to tell you the honest truth about things but [15:39] SPEAKER_00: I don't mind doing that because I think it gives people a good idea there were days where I let my [15:44] SPEAKER_00: fridge go empty there were days where I could pay some of my bills and there was days I was [15:49] SPEAKER_00: pacing my apartment and I was really hungry and I kept going back to my fridge because it's a [15:54] SPEAKER_00: reflex in the first world that we know the fridge has food in it once I discovered the fridge didn't [16:00] SPEAKER_00: have food in it anymore I was able to get to work and work even harder because I thought well I could [16:05] SPEAKER_00: stand here staring at my empty fridge or I could go back to work so I want people to know that [16:12] SPEAKER_00: it's not going to look and feel like it's supposed to it's not going to look and feel like you think [16:18] SPEAKER_00: it's going to feel and you have to really separate yourself from the logistical things like oh no [16:24] SPEAKER_00: I may have to skip a meal today oh no I'm not sure I can afford to get that [16:29] SPEAKER_00: show those shoes or that shirt or whatever you normally think you're doing in a lifestyle you might [16:34] SPEAKER_00: have to make an adjustment to make the moves to what you want to do for your future so there's [16:40] SPEAKER_00: a great saying somebody said if you want something you've never had before or you want to be somewhere [16:46] SPEAKER_00: you've never been before you're going to have to become a person you've never been before [16:50] SPEAKER_00: wow so that's a really great saying because I think that sometimes people we really want to get [16:55] SPEAKER_00: somewhere or get something but we're not sure that we can change who we are in the short term so [17:02] SPEAKER_00: get out of your comfort zone become a different person to get different results and that's [17:06] SPEAKER_02: an awesome message for today absolutely hey can so you're in Vancouver is where you born a bread [17:12] SPEAKER_00: in Vancouver so I was born and raised in North Delta that's just outside of Vancouver by about 40 [17:17] SPEAKER_00: minutes and I was born and raised there and once I got the job as a firefighter just just about five [17:23] SPEAKER_00: years ago I moved down to Vancouver obviously I didn't want to make that commute and also the kids [17:28] SPEAKER_00: Alano community and lifestyle is definitely for me and once I landed here and got a taste of it I [17:35] SPEAKER_00: have not been able to leave ever since and I'm not sure I'll leave anytime soon well and part of our [17:40] SPEAKER_02: our story here at Canada's podcast is actually you know describing and showcasing some of the [17:44] SPEAKER_02: communities we live just give me a sound bite on kitsalano what's a life kitsalano if you love the [17:50] SPEAKER_00: fitness lifestyle the beach lifestyle the restaurant lifestyle the great attitude and smiling people [17:58] SPEAKER_00: lifestyle successful individuals people who care about living their lives to the fullest kitsalano [18:04] SPEAKER_00: is definitely for you I don't even need a car I can go to the beach one day I can play around a [18:11] SPEAKER_00: golf I can have my workout at my gym shop at local farm markets if you like organic food there's lots of [18:17] SPEAKER_00: foodies here I mean this has got to be one of the best places to live in North America and I'm not [18:23] SPEAKER_00: just saying that because I live here but it's an amazing place so that's my kitsalano club [18:28] SPEAKER_02: absolutely well can you give us a little bit of insight on to what inspires you do you have [18:34] SPEAKER_02: a mantra or a saying on your wall or something that you know when you look at it you just get [18:41] SPEAKER_00: to juice is willing yes I do and so my my philosophy now it's sort of where I'm at in my journey [18:48] SPEAKER_00: and my age is it's not about me and this is a very important philosophy it's not about me so I [18:56] SPEAKER_00: understand we live in a very self centered world we do we take pictures of ourselves where we're [19:01] SPEAKER_00: just we're focused on the person if you look at the names of the products now I find it very funny [19:06] SPEAKER_00: iPad iPhone ii it's a lot of eyes and it's a lot of me's we're in a very centrally focused [19:13] SPEAKER_00: society where we focus on ourselves a lot now there's a right time for that when it comes to self [19:18] SPEAKER_00: development but then there's an unhealthy part to that where it just becomes a little bit narcissistic [19:23] SPEAKER_00: and sort of self-absorbed I'm really trying to follow the mantra right now it's not about me it's [19:28] SPEAKER_00: about other people in my life so I get to choose who those people are so for me a big motivator's [19:35] SPEAKER_00: my parents my sisters I have goals to be once I'm in a place of financial freedom that I want to [19:42] SPEAKER_00: do a lot of things with my parents I want to go on trips I want to send them places I want to go [19:46] SPEAKER_00: on trips with my my sisters and my nieces and nephews and and really take care of them I want to [19:51] SPEAKER_00: donate to groups and people that I find to be valuable and when I say it's not about me now I'm [19:57] SPEAKER_00: focusing on these youth demographics when I speak when I perform when I write books when I do [20:05] SPEAKER_00: content I really need to think about the other people and what I'm doing so I'm almost just like a [20:11] SPEAKER_00: vessel for information and value and it's not about me anymore whatever happens from that [20:17] SPEAKER_00: when someone says something nice about me and compliments me that's terrific but I just don't take [20:22] SPEAKER_00: it to heart as much as I might have you know a few years ago I just say well thank you very much [20:26] SPEAKER_00: let's put that in our gas tank or what's fueling us which is other people so trying to get that [20:32] SPEAKER_00: going is something that found has been very helpful well and something that we talked about [20:37] SPEAKER_02: earlier was up is and you say the mimic your words vessel is a vessel for energy you know I mean part [20:44] SPEAKER_02: of your role as an entertainer and speaker and author is is motivate people yes and you know if [20:52] SPEAKER_02: you could leave say your ideal audience right that that routine with one message one takeaway that [20:59] SPEAKER_02: they are going to put on their little plaque on the wall what would that be you cannot be stopped [21:06] SPEAKER_00: and and it's so important that I think that that what we've done is in in in our first world [21:11] SPEAKER_00: place now is we've taken away a lot of the dangers and things that we had hundreds of years ago [21:17] SPEAKER_00: you know we're not dying from the flu tigers aren't chasing us in the jungle we're not starving as [21:23] SPEAKER_00: much in this part of the world so we've taken away a lot of the issues that we used to have so now [21:30] SPEAKER_00: people are finding that they're they're suffering from depression because of social media [21:35] SPEAKER_00: we're having issues where someone took my parking spot so I'm going to have a bad day or they didn't [21:40] SPEAKER_00: make my latte corrected Starbucks right first world problems yeah exactly so this first world [21:45] SPEAKER_00: problem idea has actually led us to a place where we believe that all these things are wrong and [21:51] SPEAKER_00: and then we have all these limitations it's not true you cannot be stopped and I want these young [21:56] SPEAKER_00: people to know that no matter what it is no matter how big that dream is or how crazy it is or how [22:03] SPEAKER_00: many people are going to tell you can't do it you cannot actually be stopped and most of the time [22:07] SPEAKER_00: the people who are telling you that you can't have no means to stop you anyway they just want to say [22:13] SPEAKER_00: those things right so um that's right but it does come from within right that that really does [22:19] SPEAKER_00: stopable really yes so come from within exactly and believe it or not you can be this world into [22:25] SPEAKER_00: submission and I don't mean to say but if you uh dental Washington has a has a great saying he said [22:32] SPEAKER_00: if you hang around the barber shop long enough you just might get a haircut you know and so [22:37] SPEAKER_00: what he meant was how many times he got told no in Hollywood before he finally had a breakthrough [22:42] SPEAKER_00: and that's really it you cannot be stopped just keep going fantastic one is there a particular [22:47] SPEAKER_02: resource that you would love to sort of showcase and and demonstrate gratitude worth it to that has [22:53] SPEAKER_00: gotten gotten you on your journey and in terms of resource do you mean something I do well and we [23:00] SPEAKER_02: I'll give you the little hint we were talking you you said you wanted to uh mention your publisher [23:04] SPEAKER_00: how much yes great resource that was yes and so that is a great resource but I I think something [23:11] SPEAKER_00: more relevant and my publisher's great and and that stuff people can go online and and shop around [23:16] SPEAKER_00: look for publishers look for something that suits you so I wanted to publish my book and here's [23:23] SPEAKER_00: how it is with self publishing I didn't want to go ahead and learn every single thing there was to [23:28] SPEAKER_00: know about how to get a cover design made how to get book binding and finding a printer you can and [23:34] SPEAKER_00: I bet you you know the next time around I could probably do that myself but what I wanted to do [23:38] SPEAKER_00: is get the thing done and the project done so basically with a self publisher what you're doing is [23:42] SPEAKER_00: your paying people to put together your work the way that you want it put together so you're the [23:48] SPEAKER_00: CEO of the operation and you're telling people what to do and there's right this what you want [23:52] SPEAKER_00: that's a great resource I actually want to say something today just because I know this is much [23:57] SPEAKER_00: more accessible to people especially with cell phones I really this may sound crazy to some people [24:03] SPEAKER_00: they go yeah I already go on YouTube YouTube now has something that we haven't had in a long time [24:10] SPEAKER_00: which we're now at the tip of the spear is information you can get from other very successful people [24:17] SPEAKER_00: and and I really want young people to take this to heart watching YouTube and watching cats roll [24:22] SPEAKER_00: around and do funny things every now and then it's really funny I was laughing at some videos last [24:26] SPEAKER_00: night totally ridiculous and I found myself having a good laugh there's nothing wrong with that [24:30] SPEAKER_00: however when you can go on YouTube and you can type in someone like Ray Dallio one of the greatest [24:36] SPEAKER_00: investors of all time or you can listen to Michelle Obama you can listen to speeches by Oprah Winfrey [24:41] SPEAKER_00: we are at the tip of the spear in terms of transparency with some of the greatest minds of the entire [24:49] SPEAKER_00: world that we've ever seen since when have we been able to step into Oprah Winfrey's kitchen and [24:54] SPEAKER_00: have her tell us absolutely he's done to be successful so number one you can do it today you have [25:01] SPEAKER_00: your cell phone take 20 minutes every day and look somebody up it's very influential and pick [25:06] SPEAKER_00: their brain in terms of what it is that makes them tick why did they become so successful [25:11] SPEAKER_00: and the story and and really the message behind that is be very curious if you're a very curious [25:17] SPEAKER_02: person explore that love it stay curious right that's it that's it's the possibility [25:22] SPEAKER_02: can I answer anything else you would like to mention today for the audience here at canna's podcast [25:28] SPEAKER_00: you know what I thought about it and I do want to mention something there's something coming down [25:32] SPEAKER_00: the pipe that I'm very excited about it's been in the works I've just been working on it a little [25:36] SPEAKER_00: bit in the last while and I have decided to go ahead and start the plans to make my own youth [25:42] SPEAKER_00: conference in Vancouver that I'm going to be hosting yeah so we're coming up with the names [25:48] SPEAKER_00: in that and we're looking at something like the next level conference and what we're doing is we're [25:52] SPEAKER_00: taking that very specified group about the 13 14 to 18 age we've noticed there's a lot of self [25:59] SPEAKER_00: development seminars for adults and workshops and they beat themselves to death and I'm going you [26:04] SPEAKER_00: know what it's time we get that group younger and we get them to start off in a group where they [26:09] SPEAKER_00: can network they can learn we're gonna bring screws in and so we love that idea because as much as [26:17] SPEAKER_00: we love the education system curriculum takes time to change and we have changed very rapidly so [26:23] SPEAKER_00: this is almost like a new school we want it to be really awesome we're gonna bring kids in and we're [26:28] SPEAKER_00: we got that planning so look out for 2020 we'll make sure we get on that in terms of [26:33] SPEAKER_00: uh marketing and advertising and let cool know where to be how it's available all those kinds of [26:38] SPEAKER_00: things so I'm really very excited about that I will be launching that myself and that will be [26:42] SPEAKER_00: on the back of sort of my second company that I'm ready to launch so very excited about that and [26:47] SPEAKER_02: keep your ears and eyes open for that I'm sure there's lots of people that would love to get behind [26:52] SPEAKER_02: you on that so we'll help spread the word uh cam thanks again for joining us
